Descrizione / Description: La Chiesa delle Anime del Purgatorio si trova nella zona portuale di Marina Corta, a Lipari, in posizione panoramica su uno sperone roccioso affacciato sul mare. Costruita nel XVII secolo, era dedicata alle preghiere per le anime dei defunti e legata alla confraternita omonima. L’edificio presenta una semplice facciata barocca e un interno a navata unica, con decorazioni essenziali e altari laterali. Per la sua posizione suggestiva e il legame con la spiritualità marinara, la chiesa è divenuta simbolo del rapporto tra la comunità locale e il mare, nonché luogo di memoria e raccoglimento / The Church of the Souls in Purgatory is located in the harbor area of Marina Corta, in Lipari, perched on a rocky spur overlooking the sea. Built in the 17th century, it was dedicated to prayers for the souls of the dead and was associated with a confraternity of the same name. The building features a simple Baroque façade and a single-nave interior with minimal decoration and side altars. Due to its evocative location and ties to maritime spirituality, the church has become a symbol of the local community’s bond with the sea, as well as a place of memory and reflection
