Tra colate nere e vapori sulfurei, il paesaggio appare sospeso, arcaico, modellato dal tempo e dal fuoco / The painting captures the double soul of the island: the massive, steaming crater of Vulcano and the lower plateau of Vulcanello, formed by eruptions in Roman times and later joined by an isthmus. Between black lava flows and yellow sulfur vapors, the landscape appears suspended, raw and archaic, shaped by time and fire
