Descrizione / Description: Eruzione stromboliana con spettacolari fontane di lava la cui altezza supera i 4 km. Nei 7 giorni di attività (8-15 agosto) il Vesuvio produce un’enorme quantità di piroclastiti (lapilli e scorie), che si accumulano a NNE, nell’Atrio e nel Vallone della Vetrana. Quest’ultimo, al termine dell’eruzione risulterà sollevato di 75 m. Pioggia di cenere e proietti colpiscono la cittadina di Ottaviano / A Strombolian eruption with spectacular lava fountains whose height exceeds 4 km. During the 7 days of activity (8th-15th August), Vesuvius produces a huge amount of pyroclastites (lapilli and slag), which accumulate in the NNE, Atrium and Vallone della Vetrana. The latter, at the end of the eruption will be raised by 75 m. Rain of ash and projectiles hit the town of Ottaviano.
